Let’s be honest: creating high-quality content alone isn’t enough to get noticed anymore.
With social media algorithms constantly evolving and platforms becoming increasingly saturated, visibility has become both an art and a science. As a seasoned marketing strategist, I’ve worked with clients who were creating brilliant content but barely reaching anyone.
The difference between obscurity and growth? A few strategic visibility boosters.
Here’s how you can increase your reach and become truly discoverable online.
1. Optimise Your Posting Schedule
Consistency is key, but timing is everything.
Each platform has peak activity times. While it varies based on your niche and audience, general patterns show:
LinkedIn: Early mornings (8–10 am) and lunchtimes on weekdays
Instagram: Evenings and weekends
TikTok: Late afternoon to evening
X (formerly Twitter): Mid-mornings and late nights
Use platform insights or tools like Buffer, Later, or Hootsuite to schedule your content at optimal times for maximum exposure.
2. Make Use of Platform Features (Especially New Ones)
Every time a platform releases a new feature (Reels, LinkedIn Newsletters, YouTube Shorts), it prioritises content that uses it.
Early adoption = higher reach.
If Instagram launches a new sticker or TikTok releases a trend tool, jump on it. Social media platforms reward creators who help them test and push their latest features.
Think of it as riding the algorithmic wave before everyone else does.
3. Collaborate with Others in Your Niche
Strategic collaborations can supercharge your reach.
This includes:
Joint Lives or Reels
Guest posts
Podcast swaps
Shared giveaways
Duets or stitches on TikTok
Co-authored LinkedIn posts
Collaborations expand your exposure to audiences that already trust someone similar to you. The key is choosing people who align with your values and attract your ideal audience.
4. Engage Proactively (Don’t Just Post and Ghost)
Social media isn’t a billboard, it’s a conversation.

Spend 15–30 minutes a day:
Commenting on posts from your ideal audience
Starting genuine conversations in DMs
Responding to comments quickly
Sharing and celebrating other creators' wins
The algorithm notices when you’re actively participating in the platform and rewards your content with greater visibility.
Remember: people engage with people who engage.
5. Use Strategic Hashtags and Geotags
Hashtags help your content get discovered by non-followers. But more isn’t always better. Use a mix of:
Niche hashtags (e.g. #LinkedInMarketingTips)
Community hashtags (e.g. #MumsInBusinessUK)
Trending or event-specific hashtags (e.g. #InternationalWomensDay)
On Instagram, 5–10 well-researched hashtags perform better than 30 random ones.
Location-based tags on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook also help if your business is local or regional.
6. Create Shareable, Saveable Content
Some content goes far not because of likes, but because people share or save it.
Focus on creating:
Infographics or checklists
Short how-to videos
Swipe-through carousels
Inspiring quotes
Storytelling content that evokes emotion
These formats encourage engagement beyond likes and help you reach a wider audience organically.
7. Repurpose Content Across Platforms
Instead of reinventing the wheel, recycle your best-performing content in new ways.
For example:
Turn a long LinkedIn post into a carousel or a Reel
Rework a podcast into a quote graphic and blog
Share snippets from a blog post as tweets
Turn a comment conversation into a video
One piece of content can fuel 3–5 posts if done creatively. Repurposing allows your ideas to meet people where they are.
8. Use Paid Promotion Strategically
Organic reach has its limits. A small ad budget can go a long way if used smartly.
Boost:
High-performing posts
Lead magnets
Product or event launches
Testimonials or user-generated content
Start small (£5–£10 per day) and target warm audiences (like people who’ve visited your website or engaged with your content). Paid promotion should amplify what’s already working.
9. Tap into Trends – But Make Them Yours
Trends give you visibility, personality gives you connection.
Use popular audio, formats, or memes in a way that still reflects your brand voice. Whether you’re educating, entertaining, or storytelling, put your own spin on the trend.
Example: If a trending audio is humorous, use it to illustrate a common myth in your industry with a twist.
You stay relevant and real.
10. Encourage Audience Interaction (Call to Action)
Want more visibility? Invite it.
Use strong calls to action (CTAs):
“Double-tap if you agree”
“Tag a friend who needs this”
“Comment YES if this resonates”
“Save this for later”
Algorithms love content with high engagement in the first hour of posting, so nudge your audience to interact straight away.
Increasing your visibility isn’t about shouting louder, it’s about showing up smarter. Each platform is an ecosystem with its own rhythm, audience behaviour, and algorithmic preference. Understanding this and adapting accordingly is what sets magnetic brands apart.
Remember: visibility is the doorway to opportunity. It’s the spark that leads to conversations, conversions, and community. Don’t aim to go viral. Aim to be valuable and let the reach follow.
That will be all for this week.
